Dumfries and Galloway has always been known for its unique dark sky, its spectacular skies with the least amount of light pollution which has attracted a flock of eager photographers to visit year after year. It also captures the classic countryside imagery of rolling hills and greenery. However, this idyllic image of village life actually masks issues of deprivation and inequality in the area. Reports have revealed dramatic rise in the number of rough sleepers in the areas in the last five years. This considerable number of hidden homeless should not remain dismissed. And therefore, has prompted me to publish the hidden stories within the area. I wanted to challenge the social stigma that individuals have with homelessness and to shed some light on the unique difficulties faced within rural housing.

This project is a collection of stories and photographs. The intended outcome is a newsprint publication, aimed to be distrubute widely and easily distrubuted, appealing to the general public.
